As our Assistant Centre Manager (ACM), you’ll play a key role in strengthening our team culture while supporting daily operations and quality practice across the Centre. If this sounds like your next step, we’d love to welcome you into our community!
What You’ll Be Doing as our Assistant Centre Manager:
- Support the Centre Manager in the day-to-day operations of the Centre, ensuring smooth, compliant and high-quality practice.
- Lead by example, maintaining strong educator-to-child engagement and modelling best practice in early education.
- Mentor, guide and support educators to build capability, confidence, and consistency across rooms.
- Assist with staff rostering, programming support, and maintaining ratios in line with regulatory requirements.
- Foster a calm, inclusive and respectful environment where children feel safe, secure and valued.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with families and act as a key point of support within the leadership team.
- Monitor documentation, observations and learning outcomes in alignment with the EYLF and NQF.
- Support compliance, policies, and procedures, including health, safety and Child Safe Standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, team development, and a positive, collaborative culture.
- Step into the Centre Manager role when required and assist with leadership responsibilities, meetings, and Centre initiatives.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and leadership learning.
Who We’re Looking For:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA approved equivalent) or above.
- Previous experience in a leadership, 2IC, Room Leader or senior educator role (highly regarded)
- Valid WWC Card
- Training in Child Protection, Red Nose, Food Safety (or willingness to obtain) plus other required compliance certification
- Strong understanding of the NQF, EYLF, Child Safe Standards and early education best practice
- Excellent leadership, mentoring and communication skills
- A proactive, organised and hands-on approach to leadership
- Genuine passion for early education and supporting team growth
- Availability to work Monday to Friday, 6:30am–6:30pm (as per operational needs)
