Cook - Mayfield Early Education Allenstown
Love cooking and want a role that fits around your life? Looking for school-friendly hours, no nights, and no weekends? If you’ve got a passion for creating simple, healthy, and child-friendly meals – we’d love to meet you!
At Mayfield Early Education – Allenstown, we believe food is so much more than fuel. It’s comfort, it’s learning, and it’s a chance to nourish little minds and bodies. We’re on the lookout for someone who wants to share that passion with children – whether you’re an experienced cook or simply someone who loves being in the kitchen.
Why you’ll love this role
- Family-friendly hours, 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexible to work within school hours.
- No qualifications needed! just a love of cooking and a commitment to making nutritious, child-friendly meals.
- You really can make an impact every day you come to work. You’ll help shape healthy eating habits, teach children about food, and fuel their growth and learning.
- Join a team that feels like family. We’re supportive, fun, and all about creating a positive, collaborative workplace.
- This is a great industry to be in! Early Childhood Education is growing and recognised as one of the most rewarding sectors to be part of.
What you’ll be doing
- Cooking delicious, nutritious meals for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
- Planning and preparing a rotating menu that keeps food fun, balanced, and allergy friendly.
- Creating an inviting food culture that teaches children about healthy choices.
- Working closely with educators and families to support every child’s wellbeing.
What we’re looking for
- A passion for cooking and nourishing little ones.
- Someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
- Knowledge of food safety and willingness to complete (or already hold) a Blue Card, Food Handling certificate, and First Aid training.
Why join Mayfield?
- Competitive, above-award pay (including a recent 10% wage increase through the ECEC government grant, with another 5% coming in December!).
- Generous childcare discounts.
- Career development pathways – from cooking into leadership or ECEC qualifications if you’d like to grow.
- Ongoing training and professional development (even overseas opportunities!).
- Recognition, bonuses, and wellbeing support for you and your family through Sonder.
This is more than just a cooking job – it’s a chance to make a real difference every day in a role that fits around your life. It is an opportunity to build a career in a warm, ever growing inclusive industry that really does let you be you!
