Lead Educator - OSHC Room, Mayfield Early Education Brose Street

Are you a confident, caring leader who thrives in a dynamic before and after school care environment? Do you love guiding school-aged children to explore their interests, build friendships, and develop independence? If so, this could be your next great move.

At Mayfield Early Education Brose Street, we create a safe, engaging, and inclusive OSHC environment where children feel respected, capable, and excited to belong. This is your opportunity to lead a program that supports children’s wellbeing, creativity, and growth beyond the school day.

Why Work with Us?

When you join Brose Street, you’re not just stepping into a role — you’re becoming part of a connected, supportive community. We believe in empowering our educators, valuing their ideas, and building genuine partnerships with families and children. You’ll be trusted to lead, encouraged to innovate, and supported to grow.

This is a split shift position, working before and after school hours.

That means you’ll have valuable time in the middle of the day to focus on study, personal commitments, appointments, family time, or simply to recharge — while still working meaningful hours in a leadership role. You will also receive split shift allowance in line with the applicable award.  For the right person, this structure offers both professional impact and lifestyle balance.

Your Role & Impact

As the Lead Educator in our OSHC Room, you will lead the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of a high-quality outside school hours care program.

You will:

  • Lead a stimulating, child-led OSHC program aligned with the My Time, Our Place (MTOP) framework
  • Create a safe, inclusive space where school-aged children feel respected, heard, and capable
  • Support children’s social development, resilience, and independence
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with families, schools, and the wider community
  • Mentor and guide other educators within the OSHC environment
  • Oversee documentation, observations, and program planning to ensure compliance and quality
  • Ensure compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Child Safe Standards
  • Maintain a calm, organised, and positive atmosphere during busy before and after school periods

This is a leadership role — we’re looking for someone who can confidently take ownership of the OSHC space and inspire both children and colleagues.

Role Requirements

We’re seeking someone who has:

  • A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
  • Experience working with school-aged children (OSHC experience highly regarded)
  • A valid Blue Card
  • Training in Child Protection, Red Nose, and Food Safety (or willingness to obtain)
  • A strong understanding of the NQF, MTOP & Child Safe Standards
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children’s growth beyond the classroom

Why You’ll Love Working with Us

We take care of the people who care for children. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Above-award pay that recognises your skills and dedication
  • Wage uplift with the ECEC Government Grant
  • Split shift allowance in line with the award
  • Discounted enrolment fees for your own children at any Mayfield Centre
  • Access to free wellbeing and medical support for you and your family, 24/7
  • Ongoing professional development, including unique opportunities like study tours to New Zealand
  • Real career growth opportunities within our expanding group
  • A friendly, supportive team that celebrates wins together and values your ideas

If you’re ready to lead an engaging OSHC program where children feel empowered, connected, and inspired every single day — we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us create a space where school-aged children truly thrive.
